Behavior Consultant
Full Time – 2 positions open for 2024
We are seeking a professional who can successfully work with a variety of serious behavior issues, including aggression to people and aggression to other pets. Our experienced behavior professionals support and mentor junior training staff.
Key responsibilities and requirements:
Our professionals work collaboratively with other team members to provide clients with high quality, force free and fear free behavior assessments and behavior modification plans.
At least 5 years’ experience working with clients in private or group settings.
Our professionals must be able to develop and implement training plans that follow the ethical guidelines of the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. Use of e-collars, prong collars, or “balanced” approaches in a training plan is not an acceptable standard of care for our clients.
Preference will be given to candidates with certification through the Animal Behavior Society, International Association of Animal Behavior, Certification of Professional Dog Trainers, Karen Pryor Academy or other reputable organization that teaches the principles of ethical, humane, positive reinforcement training.
In lieu of certification, will consider equivalent education in psychology, animal behavior or a related field including familiarity with learning theory, operant and classical conditioning.
Comfort with public speaking, including presentation of formal education programs.
Competence in written communication skills.
Proficiency with web-based applications.
Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance for local position.
Must have a reliable desktop or laptop computer and mobile phone.
Dog Trainer
Full Time – 1 open position for 2024
We are seeking a professional Dog Trainer who can carry out training plans for our Reactive Rover and Puppy Preschool clients. People in this position work closely with experienced trainers, carrying out behavior modification and training plans with client dogs.
Key responsibilities and requirements:
Our professionals work collaboratively with other team members to provide clients with high quality, force free and fear free training.
Requires 1-2 years’ experience working with clients in private or group settings.
Our professionals must be able to follow the ethical guidelines of the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Use of e-collars, prong collars, or “balanced” approaches in a training plan is not an acceptable standard of care for our clients.

Dog Training Assistant
Full or Part Time – 1 open position for 2024
People in this position work closely with experienced trainers, carrying out behavior modification and training plans with client dogs.
Key responsibilities:
Assist with history taking and assessment.
Implement behavior modification and training plans designed by experienced staff.
May assist through observation, videotaping or direct handling of dogs
Assist with documentation of training sessions through video or written notes.
As experience allows, develop management and prevention plans (e.g., changes in the dog’s environment, changes in response to the dog, equipment) to address fearful and aggressive behavior issues as well as common nuisance behaviors such as jumping up, digging, pulling on the leash, nipping from puppies, escaping and chewing that may occur in class sessions and at the dog’s home.
Performance Expectations:
Effectively manage time and meet deadlines. Timeliness is especially important.

Available to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends
Treats all animals humanely, with compassion and concern
Commitment to a high standard of safety and willingness to comply with all safety rules
Minimum job requirements:
Familiarity with learning theory, operant and classical conditioning. Preferably holding or pursuing a college degree in psychology, biology, or related field.
Competent written and verbal communication skills
Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
Regular access to a dog that is comfortable around other dogs.
